Introduction to Data Cooperatives
We developed an online, self-paced course from the Introduction to Data Cooperatives (IDC) syllabus version 0.1.
This course is comprised of five units and is meant to act as an introduction to data stewardship models, principally data cooperatives.
In Unit 1, you will learn about the core issues in the data economy.
In Unit 2, you will be introduced to the concept of a data cooperative.
In Unit 3, we will explore the benefits and challenges of operating a data cooperative.
In Unit 4, we will take a deeper look into some real world data cooperatives.
Finally, in Unit 5, we will examine other institutional forms for data stewardship, such as data trusts and data collaboratives.
This self-paced course is expected to take approximately 5 - 15 hours to complete.
